I totally agree with what you are saying about not giving in. It is hard though. My worst and most recent experience was with my 4yr old daughter. We were in Meijers shopping and my daughter totally flipped out on me. I tried to talk to her and she wouldn't calm down. She was screaming louder than I have ever heard a child tantrum in a store. I was sooo embarrassed but at the same time was NOT going to let her win even though my mom wanted me to give in. She walked away and I grabbed my purse and took my daughter in the bathroom. I made her stand in the corner....screaming her head off until she was ready to calm down. A couple workers walked in and looked at me like at me funny. I just said "this is free birth control." ;) We stayed in there for a good ten minutes until she calmed down. We then finished our shopping w/out anymore problems and haven't had any problems with her since but that doesn't mean it won't ever happen again.
